Hello! My name is Alexis Duncan!

I am from Charleston, South Carolina. I have one younger sister and many cousins, both older and younger. I am an animal lover. My favorite time of year is Christmas, my favorite foods are Italian and Japanese cuisine. My hobbies include: going to the movies, spending time with friends and family, going to the beach, doing volunteer work, photography, gym classes, and traveling.

I am currently an undergraduate student at the College of Charleston with a major in Early Childhood Education and minor in Psychology. In the future I hope to earn my Master of Education or Teacher Leadership. I have gained experience in teaching through my multiple jobs as a  nanny, working as a substitute teacher at Mason Prep School, my role as a Sunday School teacher at my church, my volunteer work as a mentor for students and a teachers aide through Communities in Schools, my volunteer work as a summer camp counselor for Camp I Believe and Kaleidoscope, and my volunteer work as a tutor for students at Mason Prep School. 

I have aspired to be a teacher for as long as I can remember. My grandfather was both a  teacher and a principal, and he has always been my inspiration. I love inspiring children through education, and am looking forward to becoming a teacher and touching the lives of as many children as I can!
